Nunavut Research Institute Career Opportunity: Senior Research Officer
March 8, 2010  - The mandate of NRI is to improve the quality of life for residents of Nunavut by applying scientific knowledge to solve northern problems and advance social and economic goals. The Senior Research Officer (SRO) is the research leader of the College and under the Nunavut Scientists Act, is designated as the Science Advisor to the Government of Nunavut. Under the Scientists Act, the Science Advisor may be directed to analyse and advise on any Science related item and under the authority delegated by the Act, the Science Advisor may choose to advise Cabinet/GN on any Science related matter, without being requested whether or not that advice is sought. The science advisor is also responsible for science policy. Most research in Nunavut is done by outsiders who have gone through a review process which we generally accept. However Arctic College also has research policies and these form the basis of a review process for research that is initiated within Nunavut. Read More.

March 1, 2010  - The College is seeking to fill the position of Instructor, Electrician, with a Journeyman (Inter-provincial) certified trades instructor. This position is for the Nunavut Trades Training Center, located in Rankin Inlet, and is open to Journeyman (IP) certified applicants experienced in trades training, along with a demonstrated aptitude for working with Arctic climate technologies.
