Reporting to the Coordinator Community Programs (North), the Adult Basic Education Instructor’s primary responsibilities are to 1) instruct multi-level ABE courses using a range of instructional styles incorporating adult education principles, and 2) evaluate student learning. The incumbent’s instructional duties will be assigned to a variety of courses that may include but not limited to language and cultural courses, English, Math, and Essential Skills courses offered in the Adult Basic Education program. The incumbent must have expertise and be qualified to instruct Inuktitut reading, writing, composition, communication, syllabic & Inuktitut utilities, and courses related to Inuit history, culture, and political studies.

The Sivuliuqtit program (Nunavut Management Development Program) was delivered jointly by Nunavut Arctic College and the federal government's management development training Centre, the Canadian Centre for Management Development in Gatineau, Quebec. The program ran from 1995 to 1999, in preparation for the creation of Nunavut.
Allergies have nearly doubled in western populations over the last twenty years. In North America dangerous peanut and nut allergies increased three and a half times between 1997 and 2008. While allergists are testing new ways to desensitize children to allergens, immunologists are testing theories to explain the cause of allergies’ dramatic increase.

The Manager of Finance is responsible to manage and coordinate the corporate accounting and financial functions of Nunavut Arctic College. The Manager assists in the development, implementation and monitoring of financial services in accordance with the Financial Administration Act, Financial Administration Manual, Public Colleges Act, Generally Accepted Accounting/Auditing Principles and related policies, procedures, directives and regulations, in order to safeguard and control the assets of the College.

Located in Rankin Inlet and reporting to the Director of Trades & Technology, the Coordinator, Curriculum Program Development works in partnership with the Department of Education, to develop Nunavut based apprenticeship, trades & occupational certificate programs. The incumbent will provide academic and administrative leadership in matters related to curriculum development, implementation, evaluation and advisement in areas of developing trades programs offered at Nunavut Arctic College. The Coordinator, Curriculum Program Development will be consistently work with Government of Nunavut educational directors and staff along with related training institutions and senior development staff from external jurisdictions.
Twelve students from John Arnalukjuak High School competed in the eighth territorial skills competitions, held from April 24-26 at Inuksuk High School in Iqaluit. Each came home with a medal from their respective categories! Congratulations students!
On April 10, 2013, Hall Beach Arctic College students took part in the Red Cross Day of Pink to take a stand against bullying.
Eleven residents of Repulse Bay recently completed the two week course ‘Working in Research: A Community Guide to Understanding and Participating in Research Programs’. This Nunavut Arctic College course delivery was funded by through a contribution from a research project grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and was supported by the Government of Nunavut, Department of Environment, Fisheries Division with in-kind support from Arctic College.
