Mineral Exploration Field Assistant

This is a pilot course, pre-training Record of achievement designed in collaboration with Nunavut and Federal governments, Canada-Nunavut Geo-science Office, Nunavut Arctic College, Regional Training Organizations, NTI and mineral exploration companies. This course will provide students with a marketable set of job knowledge skills, increasing their potential to be employed as prospectors or geologic field assistants either by mineral exploration companies or field research groups.

8 week course with 7 modules (6 one week modules in the classroom; 1 two week module in a field project)

Admission Requirements:

Applicants will be admitted into this course based on the course eligibility criteria, subject to available space and resources.

Applicants wishing to apply to this course must:

  • Have a minimum of Grade 8 or ABE level 120 Math and English
  • Speak and write English

Credit Transfer Opportunities:

Students may be eligible to transfer credits towards other approved College programs, including the Certificate Level, Mine Industry Trades Access program.
