Piqqusilirivvik welcomes 2013 Fall students!

Welcome to the new students of the Piqqusilirivvik Summer/Fall Program 2013. The program runs August 19 to November 30. The students spent the first 3 weeks of their program on the land, learning to build qarmat (sod houses). They will be taking a variety of hands-on, land-based, and classroom-based courses this program, including Survival Skills, Inuit History, Leadership, Hunting, Toolmaking, Skin Preparation and Sewing, and more!

This two-year diploma program will prepare students to achieve the professional practice requirements of a practical nurse. This program provides graduates with the theory, knowledge, judgment and skills required to care for stable patients and patients with predictable outcomes.

I have to confess that I am a rather social person. There are many times during my day when I would like to have a conversation with someone about something I have seen or heard. Or philosophize with someone about teaching and learning. But like so many educators across our college I work in isolation.

The Piqqusilirivvik Vision

The role of Piqqusilirivvik within Nunavut is envisioned as:
