Customized Training
As a partner in the development of Nunavut, Customized Training responds to the
training and development needs of individual learners, employers and their
communities. This Division has the lead responsibility for the development of
territorial wide training partnerships and works closely with the Regional
Campuses in the delivery of all new and existing contract training and
development programs.
Some of the Customized Training programs currently being delivered at our
Campuses or Community Learning Centres are:

The Municipal Government Program - a certificate program customized for
municipal employees across Nunavut Arctic College;

Fisheries training with the assistance of the Marine Institute in Newfoundland
;

The Mental Health Diploma Program - a two year program to prepare graduates to
work as professionals in the wellness and mental health fields;

Pre-trades programs and trades related training to prepare Nunavummiut for entry
into a variety of trades.
The Director of Customized Training is the main point of contact for
communities, business and government departments who have specialized training
needs. Our customized training partners include: The Baffin Fisheries Coalition,
the Municipal Training Organization, Kivalliq Partners in Development, Kakivak
Association, Kitikmeot Economic Development Corporation, and many Government of
Nunavut departments, such as Human Resources, Health and Social Services, and
the Department of Education.
If we don't already offer the particular courses or programs that you need we
will partner with other institutions to deliver them or we will customize new
programs for you.
